| Sensitive teeth is a
common symptom that most people suffer from. The most
common cause is receding gums due to aggressive or over
brushing. When the tissue recedes it exposes the root
of the tooth which is more sensitive to the oral environment.
This area tends to be more sensitive to temperatures and
sweets. If the recession continues over a long duration,
bone loss around the tooth can occur thus jeopardizing
the health of the tooth. Treatment includes:
Desensitizing Toothpaste
Filling material placed over the root of the tooth
A tissue graft to replace the missing gum tissue,( this
is the recommended treatment ) to resolve tissue loss
in the area.
